The Matrice.ai website redesign was a comprehensive effort to highlight the platform's product features, use cases, and solutions for a global audience in the Computer Vision sector. As a design and development team member, I was responsible for revamping the website to create a more engaging, intuitive, and informative user experience. The key focus was to align the website with Matrice.ai's core mission: to simplify AI and make it accessible for businesses and teams working on computer vision projects.

As the product designer, I led the UX/UI redesign and collaborated with engineers and stakeholders to ensure a seamless user experience. My responsibilities included:

User Research: Conducting user interviews and analyzing existing website data to identify pain points.

Wireframing and Prototyping: Creating low-fidelity and high-fidelity wireframes to ensure a smooth flow across the site.

UI/UX Design: Implementing a clean, modern interface aligned with Matrice.ai’s branding, making the site visually appealing and easy to navigate.

Development &amp; Collaboration: I worked closely with developers to ensure that the designs translated smoothly into a responsive website. I am one of the early product designers at Matrice, and I had the exciting opportunity to help redesign our product from the ground up.

In the early stage of my career, managing such a huge project was a true challenge yet an exciting journey. In this case study, I’ll focus on one of my most significant and rewarding changes in the platform. As the sole designer on this project, I managed it from start to finish, although collaboration with others was key to its success.

Founders: I worked closely with the founders to grasp the full scope of the project and its requirements. We introduced several new elements, including a comprehensive dashboard, and revamped existing features like the drift monitoring and BYOM platform.

Engineers: I collaborated with engineers to ensure that the final product aligned perfectly with the design vision, maintaining both functionality and aesthetics.

When we dug into our user data, we hit a major roadblock — our onboarding process was bleeding potential users. People were dropping off halfway through sign-up. It was clear we needed a serious rethink.

We asked ourselves, “What’s the bare minimum we really need to get users started?” After some back-and-forth, we boiled it down to four essentials:

1. Full Name (gotta know who we’re talking to, right?)

2. Email (for all that important stuff we need to send)

3. Password (keep it secret, keep it safe!)

4. Account Number (but only if they’re joining an existing team)or simply sign up using Google.

With these in mind, we overhauled our onboarding into a sleek three-step process:

Step 1: Fill out a simple sign-up form (no life story required!)

Step 2: Quick email verification (we promise, no spam)

Step 3: Choose your own adventure — join a team with an Account Number or create your own account

And just like that — boom! You’re in. Welcome to your new Matrice.ai home page.

The result? A night-and-day difference. We saw a significant uptick in completed sign-ups, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Users appreciate the straightforward approach — no fuss, no muss, just get in and get to work.

It just goes to show, that sometimes less really is more. By focusing on what truly matters, we turned a pain point into a smooth entry point for our users. Who knew simplicity could be so powerful?

Let me tell you, when I first looked at Matrice.ai, I was blown away by its scope. We’re talking about eight different services, each with its unique workflow. It was like trying to solve a Rubik’s cube blindfolded!

Our biggest challenge? Making sense of how users would navigate through this maze of interconnected services. We needed to create a smooth journey from data management to deployment and monitoring. No small feat, I can assure you.

Now, I could go on for hours about each service’s specific flow (trust me, I’ve spent enough sleepless nights thinking about them), but let’s focus on our overall approach.

Throughout this redesign journey, we kept reminding ourselves: “Powerful, yet user-friendly.” It became our mantra.

It was a wild ride, but seeing it all come together? Worth it.

Challenge 3: Making Forms Less Frightening

Let’s be real — our forms were giving users a headache. Whether you were an ML pro or just starting, filling them out felt like solving a puzzle blindfolded. So, we decided to give it a makeover. Here’s what we did:

The result? Night and day difference. Users went from scratching their heads to breezing through the process. Forms went from being the scary part of our platform to just another easy step.

Turns out, sometimes all it takes is breaking things down and adding a few helpful touches to turn a headache into a “huh, that was actually pretty simple” experience. Who knew forms could be so… dare I say it… user-friendly?

Challenge 4: Keeping Track Made&nbsp;Easy

Let’s face it — in a big platform like Matrice, it’s easy to lose track of what’s going on. We needed a simple way to show users what’s happening without overwhelming them. Here’s what we did:

Graphs Instead of Cards We switched from using lots of summary cards to using graphs. Why? Because graphs are easier to understand at a glance. You can see trends and track actions without getting lost in a sea of numbers. It’s like turning a bunch of data into a simple picture.

Recent Actions: Your Memory Helper Ever done something and then forgot about it five minutes later? We’ve all been there. That’s why we added a Recent Actions card. It shows you the last five things you did across the whole platform right on the home page. Need more details? Just click “All Actions” and you’ll see everything you’ve been up to.

Why This Works This new setup helps users in two big ways:

It’s like having a friendly reminder that keeps you up to date without any extra work on your part.

The best part? Users love it. They can now keep track of their work without breaking a sweat. Who knew making things simpler could make such a big difference?
